HOW TO KNOW IF YOUR READY TO START YOUR OWN BUSINESS | Discover Your Current Business Mindset
WHAT IS YOUR WHY?
That’s right, I’m getting straight to the point with this one.
So what is your why for your business? There is no right or wrong answer here. What is it that drives you to fulfill your destiny within your business when things are not going right? Or when friends and family are telling you your business will fail? What about when your completely clueless on how to achieve any business goals? What about when your not making a single penny, but instead losing money on your business investments?
So what is my why? Well my why is to help people who are tired of living their lives for other people. This is something that I did all throughout my life. I would put myself in horrible situations just to make sure that other people were OK. Here's an example. During my college years I failed a few of my classes simply because I was doing work for other people, but never had enough time for my own work. People used me, but I still wanted to see people succeed and help them no matter the cost.
As I got older and with the help of my fiance I got better at not being used, but I still found myself wanting to help people constantly. So instead of putting myself in harms way continuously I decided to launch MIP as a way to assist people with marketing and branding online. I’m learning every single day, but this is something that brings me true happiness.
ARE YOU READY TO GIVE UP PERSONAL TIME?
This is pretty straightforward. How often are you on Netflix, shopping, playing video games, on social media, or whatever else it is people do now a days that takes up A LOT of their time? Yes I know, you think you can easily give up personal time, but it is a lot harder than it looks. Sometimes people just don't want too honestly because they use this time as a moment to get away from the “real world”. This is their time to unwind. Escape their problems and issues and simply act like none of that stuff exists.
I want you to track just how much time you spend doing your personal activities so you can really see where your time is going. There are a few apps you can, but if you have an iPhone the easiest thing to do is check your screen time by going to your settings app then screen time. This literally shows you how often your using your phone and on what apps. I took a look at this and realized hours, i mean HOURS were being wasted on social media. Once you do this then I want you to think about how you can begin to allocate your time elsewhere. Take small steps first. Maybe say "OK I'm going to cut my social media time by one hour for a week, then two the next week, then three."
After accomplishing that difficult task (yes its really hard) then realize that starting your business is a nonstop job. Your 9am-5pm has just turned into a 9am-1am or a 7am-12am. Please realize that! There is no down time. This is such a myth that needs to be busted because my gosh I am always working!
ARE YOU READY TO INVEST IN YOUR BUSINESS FINANCIALLY?
Now this is not necessarily all about having a lot of money. However, as you grow you will realize that taking the FREE route often leads to worst results rather than if you just paid for a service. Now don’t take this as an excuse because you may not have a lot of money. You can start your business for free as many of us do. I’m just saying as you grow you need to be willing to invest in your business as well as yourself.

Being cheap is a major setback in many businesses and it clearly shows itself at times. Use that money you make to invest back into the business.
ARE YOUR READY TO FAIL BEFORE YOU SUCCEED?
Now this may sound unrealistic to some but the truth of the matter is that a lot of us fail before we actually succeed. Each person’s definition of failing and succeeding will differ but there will be similarities. To sum it up, pretty much whatever goal you sought out to get when your first began you may not accomplish and you either trashed the project as a whole or you went back to the drawing board. It's NORMAL!
I often hear people say that their business won't fail and I just laugh. Yes, I hope every single person who creates something succeeds at it but that is often not how life works. Look up some famous people such as Oprah Winfrey or Bill Gates and check out their roads to success. They had plenty of failed business ventures before they finally struck gold. The one thing they all have in common though is that they did not give up. Most of us will get discouraged if we do not see progress and we just give up. Or even worst, we just dream on the idea without ever starting it which is an even bigger fail.
So again, are you ready to fail before you succeed? Because I sure am.
