THE BREAKING POINT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Until August of 2019 I was just like you… just blowing in the wind taking the cruel shots life threw at me.
I had previously quit my 9-5 job due to unnecessary problems so I was forced to survive on food delivery and ride-sharing apps such as Uber, Lyft, and DoorDash. I found myself struggling severely and even ended up crying myself to sleep a few times because I simply wasn’t fulfilling my life or monetary goals.
I was then introduced to TaskRabbit. This held me over for a few more months and I was slightly more stable, but I still felt lost, confused, and broken.
It was then that I decided to take that leap of faith that we all hear about so often.
HOW DOES THIS RELATE TO YOU?
Everybody’s walk in life is different and a vast majority of us in this world never actually find our purpose. We simply do what we can, when we can, and however we can.
You may have as my grandma would say, “Champagne taste with beer money!”
Some of us;
Have jobs where we go through the motions every… single… day...
Dread when Monday is coming, can’t wait til hump day (Wednesday if you didn't know), and praise Fridays.
Hate our job so much that we literally take off running when it’s time to go home or call out every time we get enough vacation hours.
If you can relate to any of these even slightly then you may already be broken internally and it’s time for YOUR leap.
Now don’t get me wrong, we aren’t only talking about jobs here.
Some of us are in broken relationships that we won’t let go.
Some of us are in broken friendships because “we been friends for years”
Some of us already know that we are broken, but are clueless on how to fix it so we just pretend to be happy.
So first, let’s discover you:
Ask yourself who am I? What do I like/love doing? What is holding me back? Be honest with yourself here.
Is it a friend who calls my ideas dumb?
A lover who is comfortable with this struggling life so it made me comfortable?
A job that I absolutely despise, but I know I need?
To help you out I’ll go first. I’m Joy Martin. I love helping people in any way I can because it brings me true happiness. All of these questions were holding me back sadly….
So what did I do about it you may ask? Even if you didn’t ima tell you lol. Well..
That friend is no longer my friend.. Life will absolutely positively go on..
Told my fiancée either get with the program or get lost.. 2021 I’ll be married!
I logged out these side hustle apps for the final time and created my business Make It Pop LLC which is a social media marketing and branding agency.
Was this everything I did? Of course not, but these were the main changes that instantly improved my morale.
Now it's your turn to spill YOUR truth…
Life after a big change is almost always a harsh stab to the heart that makes you feel lifeless.
That friend was one of my best friends for years and just like that she was gone.
I have been with my fiancée since I was 19. I’m now 27! Life without him doesn’t even make sense in my brain and I’m glad he chose to get with the program.
I launched my business with complete confidence that I would succeed and I’m growing each day, making several mistakes along the way.
I had no savings to rely on, in fact, I’m up to my eyeballs in debt probably like you. This only made me leap even further because I realized I either find a way to make money or not eat, or not have lights and water. It’s a super scary feeling. Some people are to quit and focus solely on this new venture.
So what will it take for you to build what you just now discovered about yourself?
What will make you not only leap, but leap with purpose, consistency, and fulfillment?
WALK IN YOUR PURPOSE
So we briefly discussed how to discover and build, now it’s time to walk in your purpose.
This is where everything is put into action without looking back. It’s ok to be scared!
For me, it was taking the steps to make sure I grew my business.
Cold calling potential clients, asking for referrals, doing things for free! Taking on bad clients (the worst!). Whatever it took to get my brand out there I did.
None of this is easy, but I love that I can wake up with a filled heart ready to help people discover, build, and walk in their purpose.
My days of waking up at 4am so I could get a few more Uber/Lyft rides in Miami, FL are over.
My days of crying to sleep because I didn’t make enough on these apps that week are over.
I surrounded myself with better friends and my fiancée supports me 100%.
My days of blowing in the wind are finally over. I took control of my life and now it’s time for YOU to do the same.
